Jenner & Block sponsored a reception at the 85th Annual Meeting of the State Bar of California to honor the recipient of the Warren M. Christopher “International Lawyer of the Year Award.”  The Annual Meeting was held in Monterey, California and the reception took place on October 13, 2012.  In his capacity as Chair of the International Law Section for the State Bar of California, Jenner & Block partner Brent Caslin was one of the presenters of the award.  The recipient was California lawyer Albert S. Golbert, a well-known international tax lawyer from Los Angeles who was instrumental in pressing for the passage of the California International Arbitration Act.

Mr. Caslin is one of two founding partners of Jenner & Block’s Los Angeles office.  He manages commercial and intellectual property disputes in the Western United States and around the Pacific Rim.  Mr. Caslin has tried civil and criminal cases, argued before the Court of Appeals, and represented clients before domestic and international arbitration tribunals.  In 2003, he worked on international matters during a one-year exchange with Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, one of the largest law firms in Tokyo.  His practice has been recognized by various media who have named him a “Rising Star,” a “Super Lawyer,” and a “partner with a proven track record in trade secrets work.”  He has an active international litigation and arbitration practice and is a leading member of the International Law Section for the State Bar of California, serving as Chair of the Section during the 2011-2012 term and currently serving as an Advisor Emeritus to the Section.
