Jenner & Block Partner Brent Caslin, in his capacity as Chair of the International Law Section for the State Bar of California, signed a “Friendship Agreement” with the Osaka Bar Association from Osaka, Japan. The agreement was signed for the Osaka Bar Association by Vice President Hidefumi Naito, and the ceremony was attended by delegates from the State Bar of California and 11 representatives from Osaka, Japan. The signing took place on October 13, 2012, during The State Bar of California’s 85th Annual Meeting in Monterey, California.
Mr. Caslin is one of two founding partners of Jenner & Block’s Los Angeles office. He manages commercial and intellectual property disputes in the Western United States and around the Pacific Rim. Mr. Caslin has tried civil and criminal cases, argued before the Court of Appeals, and represented clients before domestic and international arbitration tribunals. In 2003, he worked on international matters during a one-year exchange with Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, one of the largest law firms in Tokyo. His practice has been recognized by various media who have named him a “Rising Star,” a “Super Lawyer,” and a “partner with a proven track record in trade secrets work.” He has an active international litigation and arbitration practice and is a leading member of the International Law Section for the State Bar of California, serving as Chair of the Section during the 2011-2012 term and currently serving as an Advisor Emeritus to the Section.
