Jenner & Block Partners Ross B. Bricker, Thaddeus J. Malik, Rick Richmond and Brent Caslin will speak at Northwestern University’s 48th Annual Corporate Counsel Institute.  The conference is designed to provide corporate and business lawyers with “relevant updates and discussions on today’s legal issues that impact business.”

At the Chicago conference to be held October 1-2, Mr. Bricker, co-chair of the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Practice, will speak at a Roundtable discussion and present the topic “Personal Liability Risks Facing In-house Counsel.”  Mr. Malik, co-chair of the Firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, will speak on a panel titled “Corporate Developments Arising Out of the Financial Crisis,” covering executive compensation, director and officer liability, and M&A and investment transactions.

At the San Francisco conference, which will take place December 3-4, Messrs. Richmond and Caslin will speak at a Roundtable discussion on the topic, “New Risks and Trends around the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Law of Trade Secrets.”  Mr. Richmond is Managing Partner of the Firm’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation and Class Action practices.  Mr. Caslin is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department.

For both sessions, SEC Commissioner Elisse Walter will be the keynote speaker and will address recent regulatory events affecting corporations.
