Jenner & Block Special Counsel John J. Molenda will speak at a Canaccord Adams’ seminar titled, “Patents And Their Enforcement,” which is part of a multi-part lunch lecture series related to pharmaceutical and biotechnology intellectual property.

Dr. Molenda will provide an overview of the U.S. patent system, including what a patent is, how patents are procured, and how patents are enforced. With respect to enforcement in particular, he will discuss the fundamentals of U.S. patent litigation and how various strategic considerations may impact a patent litigation. While general in nature, the talk will employ a number of examples taken from the pharma/biotech field.

Dr. Molenda is a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property, Appellate and Supreme Court, and Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Devices Practices. His practice concentrates in intellectual property litigation at both the district court and appellate levels. In view of his background in pharmaceutical and biotech research, Dr. Molenda’s has acquired extensive experience in litigating patent cases in both of those fields.
