Jenner & Block Partner Reginald J. Hill will speak at the Practising Law Institute’s seminar titled “Patent Litigation 2012” to be held October 11-12 at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center.  Mr. Hill will speak at a session titled “Recent Developments and Changes in Patent Law and Their Effects on Patent Litigation,” and will include a review of the effects on patent litigation of the America Invents Act (AIA), as well as a review of the important decisions of the Supreme Court, Federal Circuit and District Courts over the past year. The session will also cover key trends and developing patent law doctrines.  The program is also available via webcast. 

Mr. Hill is a member of the Patent Litigation and Counseling, and Trademark, Advertising, and Unfair Competition Practices, as well as a member of the Firm’s Management Committee.  He has served as lead counsel in bench and jury trials, Markman hearings and arbitrations.  Counseling, infringement, and validity opinions are also a part of his practice.  Mr. Hill is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability.  In 2003, Diversity & the Bar recognized him as one of the top Intellectual Property lawyers of color in the country.  Mr. Hill also served as Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association's Intellectual Property Section Council in 2001.
