"Basics of Accounting for Lawyers 2009: What Every Practicing Lawyer Needs To Know," Practising Law Institute, Chicago, IL

Jenner & Block Partners Eric A. Sacks and Michael T. Wolf will participate on July 27-28 in a Practising Law Institute seminar titled "Basics of Accounting for Lawyers 2009: What Every Practicing Lawyer Needs To Know."  Mr. Sacks will serve as a Co-Chair of the event, which will highlight insights on accounting and financial topics that commonly arise in the practice of law.  Among other topics, the program will discuss understanding financial statements, ways to utilize accounting experts, current SEC enforcement actions and priorities, fraud in today's environment and areas of ethical risk for attorneys.  Mr. Wolf will speak on a panel titled "Lawyers’ Use and Misuse of Financial Language: The Language of Business."  This session will discuss real life issues which arise from the use of accounting terms and concepts in legal and business transactions.  

Mr. Sacks is a member of the Firm's Litigation Department. He is Practice Group Leader of the Technology Litigation Practice and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation and Antitrust Litigation Practices.  

Mr. Wolf is a member of the Firm's Corporate Department. He is a member of the Firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity/Investment Management and Securities Practices.
