Jenner & Block Of Counsel Stephen H. Armstrong spoke at a National Brownfield Associations (NBA) program titled “Building Sustainable Communities,” held on June 28.  The workshop was targeted to municipalities in the Chicago metropolitan area and to private sector practitioners. Mr. Armstrong and the other speakers reviewed the federal, state, and regional funding sources that are available to create sustainable communities and discussed the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s GO TO 2040 plan and progress toward its implementation. 

Mr. Armstrong is a member of Jenner & Block’s Litigation Department and the Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety Law and Climate and Clean Technology Law Practices.  He represents clients in all areas of environmental law including environmental litigation, site remediation, regulatory and enforcement matters, corporate and real estate transactions, and compliance counseling.  Mr. Armstrong focuses his practice on litigation, regulatory and transactional issues associated with contaminated properties.  He is a frequent speaker on environmental topics, including liability issues associated with property transactions and environmental financial reporting and disclosure obligations.  Mr. Armstrong is President of the Illinois Chapter of the National Brownfield Association and serves on the NBA’s Board of Directors.
