Jenner & Block Partners Larry P. Ellsworth and Brent Kidwell participated as panelists, with Mr. Ellsworth acting as moderator, on a program titled “Social Media: Legal Considerations for Corporate Counsel,” presented by the Corporate Counsel Committee of the Corporations, Finance and Securities Section of the D.C. Bar.  This program explored the opportunities and risks for corporations from the rapidly expanding use of social media networks, including a review of recent court decisions.  The program was held on Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2012, at the offices of Jenner & Block LLP, at 1099 New York Avenue, N.W., in Washington, D.C. 20001.

Mr. Ellsworth is a partner in the Firm's Litigation Department.  He is a member of its Securities Litigation and Class Action Practices.  Mr. Ellsworth is a former Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Trial Unit.  He is also the former Chair of the D.C. Bar’s Corporation, Finance and Securities Law Section and of the D.C. Bar’s Administrative Law Section.

Mr. Kidwell is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and serves as the Firm’s Chief Knowledge Counsel.  Mr. Kidwell assists clients in all aspects of e-discovery, digital forensics, data management, records management, and data security.  He is a nationally recognized speaker on these topics, serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at DePaul University College of Law where he teaches a course on e-discovery, and is the author of the Law Journal Press treatise “E-Discovery”.
