In its profile of Jenner & Block Partner Andrew H. Bart, Billboard notes that he is a valued litigator for the Recording Industry Association of America, Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group, among others. As the profile notes, he is currently representing a variety of music and entertainment companies -- including Disney, Warner Chappell, Amazon, Apple, Fox and NBCUniversal -- in a claim alleging that the theme to ’90s cartoon X-Men: The Animated Series infringes upon the theme of a Hungarian TV show.
In the profile, Mr. Bart says that the firm has “devoted a lot of bandwidth to assisting music venues” in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles during the pandemic, guiding them with “licensing, employment and insurance issues.”
Asked in the profile to offer advice to a young artist, Mr. Bart responded: “Understand what you are giving up for the money or services you are receiving from managers, agents and recording and publishing companies.”
Mr. Bart is co-chair of the firm’s nationally recognized Content, Media and Entertainment Practice. This is the fifth consecutive year he has earned this recognition from Billboard.
