Ms. Jacobs and Mr. Epstein were named as honorees of Chicago Scholars’ “35 Under 35,” marking the first time that the nonprofit recognized two winners from the same organization. As noted in her profile, “Precious lives to inspire other African-American women to not be limited by their circumstances.” Mr. Epstein’s profile states that he will continue to advocate for court reform: “I dream of a Chicago (and an Illinois) with a justice system free of institutional bias and perverse incentives.”
Chicago Scholars is an organization dedicated to resolving the fundamental barriers to success for academically driven, first-generation college students from under-resourced communities. The organization will highlight the accomplishments of their honorees at the 5th Annual United Gala on April 26.
