Jenner & Block Partner Terri L. Mascherin is a 2018 recipient of the Justice John Paul Stevens Award. Given by the Chicago Bar Association and Chicago Bar Foundation, the award honors Justice Stevens, a Chicago native and an alum of Jenner & Block, for his lifetime effort to improve the system of justice and his active participation and dedication to the CBA. The award is presented annually to lawyers who best exemplify Justice Stevens’ commitment to integrity and public service in the practice of law. Ms. Mascherin and eight other recipients will be honored at a celebration on September 27, 2018, at The Standard Club. For reservations or more information on the event, contact Tamra Drees at email@example.com or 312-554-2057.
Ms. Mascherin was president of the CBA from 2010 to 2011. In 2013, she helped the CBF establish the Justice Entrepreneurs Project, a small business incubator that helps newer lawyers start innovative, socially conscious law practices serving low and middle income Chicagoans. She remains active with both the CBA and CBF, including her recent role co-founding a new CBA committee: the Business Divorce and Complex Ownership Disputes Committee. In her private practice, she is a litigator to whom clients turn for help with disputes over corporate transactions, partnerships, joint ventures, licenses and contracts.
Other Jenner & Block lawyers who have received this award include retired partner Joan M. Hall (2016); former partner William A. Von Hoene, Jr. (2015); Partner Jeffrey D. Colman (2012); former partner John B. Simon (2008); former partner the Hon. Prentice H. Marshall (2001); and the late chairman emeritus Jerold S. Solvoy and Partner Thomas P. Sullivan (2000).
