Jenner & Block Partner Suedeen G. Kelly is recognized as one of Law360’s 10 “Influential Women in Energy Law.” The list includes women who have “made waves as energy regulators, litigators and dealmakers … helping reshape an industry and practice area long perceived to be a man’s world.” Ms. Kelly is co-chair of the firm’s Energy Practice. In its profile on Suedeen, Law360 details her journey from being a “self-professed science geek” pursuing a PhD in chemistry to being the first woman lawyer at an environmental law firm and then becoming a FERC commissioner under President George W. Bush. Now, co-chair of the firm’s Energy Practice, Ms. Kelly is hopeful that more women will be interested in pursuing opportunities in the energy and energy law industries. “Don't put limits on yourself: You can be an energy lawyer, you can lead an energy practice, you can be a FERC commissioner,” she said.
