Law360 Names Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Group a “Practice Group of the Year”

Law360 has recognized the Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Group in its annual “Practice Group of the Year” series.  In its announcement, Law360 notes that winners are “law firms behind the litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry in the past year.”  Jenner & Block is one of 80 law firms that rose to the top among 747 submissions.

The Appellate and Supreme Court Practice recognition comes on the heels of a remarkable run, garnering significant wins in the highest court in the nation and in appellate courts throughout the country. Over the span of one month last year, the firm argued and won unanimous rulings in three US Supreme Court cases: Kokesh v. SEC, Honeycutt v. US and Howell v. Howell. We secured a victory in North Carolina v. Covington after the Court affirmed the lower court’s holding in an important voting rights case in North Carolina. The practice was also key in obtaining the dismissal of nearly a billion dollars in contract claims against mortgage lender WMC in the New York Supreme Court. This is the second time the group has received this significant honor.  To read Law360’s profile on the group, please click here.
