Jenner & Block is one of only 44 law firms across the United States to receive the 2017 “Gold Standard” certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF).  WILEF is the leading forum for the advancement of women in law; its annual Gold Standard certification is presented to large law firms (more than 300 lawyers) whose advancement of women stands out. They must also meet the organization’s exacting standards for the number women who are equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners. WILEF also introduced diversity of women partners as a factor this year.

With respect to the newly added standard for diversity among US women equity partners, 80 percent of certified firms met or exceeded the 7 percent threshold for women of color, 41 percent met or exceeded the 3.5 percent threshold for LGBT women, and 32 percent met or exceeded both thresholds. Jenner & Block was proud to be among the 32 percent that exceeded both thresholds. The average percentage of women equity partners of color and LGBT women equity partners was 12 percent and 3-1/4 percent, respectively.

Advancing diversity and inclusive environment are among Jenner & Block’s core values, and the firm has long been committed to supporting the inclusion and advancement of women in the workplace, in the profession and in the community.
