Jenner & Block Partners Steven M. Siros and Allison A. Torrence and Of Counsel Anne Samuels Kenney are recognized by The National Law Journal in its 2017 list of “Energy and Environmental Trailblazers.” According to the NLJ, the list honors people who “make their mark in various aspects of legal work in the areas of energy and environmental law.” Mr. Siros, Ms. Torrence and Ms. Kenney are among only 49 “trailblazers” and were chosen among hundreds of nominations.
In the NLJ’s profile of Mr. Siros, he shares how he became interested in environmental issues and the intersection of science and law. His practice focuses on educating clients on emerging contaminants and how to protect themselves from toxic tort claims by proactively establishing insurance policies.
The profile of Ms. Torrence describes how her environmental law practice began while she was in college studying to become a research biologist. She is part of a pro bono team that represents the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative in challenging a decision to allow the city of Waukesha, Wisconsin to divert water from Lake Michigan.
In Ms. Kenney’s profile, she discusses how she became interested in environmental work after law school and realized that environmental law was a new and growing practice area. She currently advises waste management, manufacturing, airlines and entertainment industry clients on environmental and OSHA laws and regulations.
