For the eighth consecutive year, The National Law Journal has named Jenner & Block to its “Appellate Hot List” – 20 law firms that “delivered” when the stakes were high, “winning big in federal and state appeals courts across the country.”

The NLJ profile of the firm notes, “The ‘Block’ in Jenner & Block’s firm name could easily be short for ‘blockbuster.’”  The feature then describes the firm’s “standout” record since January 2015 in the US Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit and several other circuit courts of appeals.

The article mentions Of Counsel Paul M. Smith for leading firm teams to wins in the US Supreme Court in Harris v. Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission and CRST v. EEOC and persuading the Court to agree with his position on the standard for awarding attorney fees under the Copyright Act in Kirtsaeng v. Wiley & Sons.  Partner Adam G. Unikowsky’s two Supreme Court victories are spotlighted – one on behalf of an Alabama woman seeking to vindicate her parental rights over three children she adopted in Georgia while in a relationship with their biological mother in V.L. v. E.L.,and the second for two criminal defendants prosecuted for the same crime by both Puerto Rico and the United States, in Puerto Rico v. Sanchez-Valle.

The firm’s Appellate and Supreme Court Practice includes Mr. Smith and Mr. Unikowsky and Partners Jessica Ring Amunson, Ishan K. Bhabha, Daniel T. Fenske, Lindsay C. Harrison, Matthew H. Hellman, Barry LevenstamMatthew E. Price, Erica Ross, Michael A. Scodro and Joshua M. Segal; Associates Caroline M. DeCell, Mark P. Gaber, R. Trent McCotter, Joshua M. Parker, Devi M. Rao, Zachary C.
