Jenner & Block Partner Wade A. Thomson has been selected for inclusion in this year’s Law Bulletin Publishing Company list of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty” to watch.
This prestigious annual list, now in its 16th year, honors 40 of the “most talented young attorneys working in Illinois,” according to the Law Bulletin. This year, the Law Bulletin received more than 1,000 nominations from throughout the state. Mr. Thomson’s profile appears in the “40 Under Forty 2015” supplement to the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer.
The profile notes Mr. Thomson’s involvement in a large and complicated aerospace dispute, with his opponent praising Mr. Thomson’s fierce but fair advocacy for his client. Also quoted is Gregory Gallopoulos, general counsel of General Dynamics and a former managing partner of the firm. A mentor to Mr. Thomson, Mr. Gallopoulos observes that he seeks to include Mr. Thomson on many of his significant matters.
The profile also notes Mr. Thomson’s active pro bono practice, including his service for clients of the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) in Chicago. Mr. Thomson has represented more than 20 immigrants and their families from 16 countries to secure asylum or other legal protections, according to the NIJC’s Executive Director Mary Meg McCarthy.
Mr. Thomson is a litigator who concentrates primarily on complex commercial disputes. He has significant experience in a variety of forums, including federal and state courts, arbitrations, and administrative hearings. Mr. Thomson has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in business litigation for several years.
