Jenner & Block’s Lateral Orientation Program is designed to help you integrate quickly into the firm in your first months. Activities ensure that you are meeting people, gaining access to resources and receiving the information and support you need to successfully start your career at the firm.
Once you have received an offer as a lateral candidate, one of our Lateral Orientation Program coordinators will contact you to answer any initial questions about the Firm’s culture, history or policies, as well as the typical workload or assignments to expect. Once you have accepted an offer, you are assigned a lateral contact. This individual is responsible for organizing welcome lunches and checking in with you during your first three months.
During your first year, you participate in a diversity awareness training program, and attend quarterly luncheon meetings to meet other new experienced attorneys. The Lateral Associate Orientation Program coordinators also host informal offsite lunches to promote networking and provide support.
