At Jenner & Block, our lawyers are called to serve. Participation in public service is expected, not just accepted. Pro bono is an important part of our history and an ongoing priority for the firm. It’s in our DNA. Our dedication to public service is supported at all levels of the firm and our partners lead by example, handling numerous pro bono cases, participating in the organized bar and serving their communities.

The Benefits of Giving Back
Our long tradition of public and community service offers benefits for both our clients and our lawyers. While participating in pro bono work, our associates acquire new skills that ultimately benefit our clients. Service to the bar helps our lawyers at all levels develop contacts and expand their networks. But ultimately, we make public service a priority because we believe it’s the right thing to do. Giving back and working to improve the lives of people all over the world is something we are called to do.
The Heart of the Matter
Jenner & Block publishes a pro bono and community service blog called The Heart of the Matter. It highlights examples of litigation and transactional pro bono work our lawyers perform for organizations and individuals. It also recognizes lawyers’ contributions through bar leadership and community involvement.
