Susan C. Levy is the Managing Partner of Jenner & Block and has been since July 2008. She is also a litigator. Clients seek her counsel related to complex business litigation, including fraud, breach of contract, trade secrets, securities, qui tam and government contract actions. She has served as lead trial counsel in international arbitrations. Ms. Levy has also handled several appellate matters before the Federal Circuit, the Illinois Appellate Court, the Seventh Circuit and the Eighth Circuit.
In 2013, the ABA Journal profiled Ms. Levy as one of six women law firm leaders “on top of her game.” Also in 2013, she was again named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ “Who’s Who in Chicago Business” list, as she has been every year since 2008, and Today’s Chicago Woman included her in its list of “100 Women of Influence.” In 2009, Crain’s recognized her as one of 10 leading “Women to Watch” in Chicago’s business community. Ms. Levy is listed in Best Lawyers in America’s 2014 guide in the Commercial Litigation category. The Leading Lawyers Network’s Leading Lawyers Magazine has included her among the top 10 leading women lawyers, women business lawyers and women litigators in Illinois,and she has been consistently recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers since 2005. In 2010, she received the Anti-Defamation League's "Women of Achievement" Award. Ms. Levy is a member of The Chicago Network, the premier organization of professional women in the Chicago area. She is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale-Hubbell's highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability.
Ms. Levy serves on the firm’s Policy Committee and chairs the firm’s Management Committee. She is past chair of the firm’s Women’s Forum. Ms. Levy is a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation and Government Contracts Practices. She is a board member of the Attorneys’ Liability Assurance Society Ltd. (ALAS) and serves on the Advisory Board for Harvard Law School's Center on Lawyers and the Professional Services Industry. She speaks and writes extensively on topics related to her practice, as well as on law firm management and the advancement of women in the field of law.
