Joseph A. Saltiel is a litigator. He provides pre-litigation counsel, licensing advice, legal opinions, and technical evaluations on intellectual property matters.
Recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in intellectual property litigation, Mr. Saltiel has experience counseling clients in a variety of technologies, including the computer, electrical, and mechanical arts. Mr. Saltiel also has significant experience representing Japanese companies in patent litigation in the United States and counseling them on intellectual property issues. A frequent writer on topics related to his practice area, Mr. Saltiel is an editor of the Jenner & Block Report, a newsletter providing updates on U.S. law for the Japanese legal and business communities.
Mr. Saltiel has an active pro bono practice, including representing clients in criminal trials, arguments before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, employment discrimination issues, and intellectual property matters. Prior to law school, Mr. Saltiel worked for Bell Labs (AT&T/Lucent), where he developed software solutions and user interfaces and wrote code for telecommunication switches.
