Jeffrey A. Koppy litigates patent infringement and complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts across the country, as well as before various national and international arbitration tribunals.  He has significant experience in complex actions and those involving Japanese or European parties, and he is knowledgeable about the special substantive and procedural issues that cases with foreign participants often present.

Illinois Super Lawyers recognized Mr. Koppy as an “Illinois Super Lawyer” in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and a “Rising Star” in 2008 and 2009. Mr. Koppy is AV Peer Review Rated, which is Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating for both legal ability and ethical standards. He is a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, a member of the Firm’s Patent Litigation and Counseling Practice, and a member of the Firm’s Associate Evaluation Committee.

Mr. Koppy also serves as Chair of the Firm's Pro Bono Committee and oversees a pro bono program at the Firm that was ranked first in the country by American Lawyer magazine in 2008, 2009, and 2011.  Moreover, in addition to his normal case load and to administering the Firm’s pro bono program, Mr. Koppy devotes substantial hours to his own pro bono practice, much of which has been related to criminal death penalty cases in Illinois, Florida, and Texas.  In 2009, the Firm honored Mr. Koppy with its Albert E. Jenner, Jr. Pro Bono Award for his exemplary dedication to pro bono service.
