Mr. Geoffrey M. Davis has a broad federal tax practice focusing on acquisition and divestiture transactions, restructuring and financing transactions and fund formation and related investments. He also routinely handles a wide spectrum of tax controversy matters.
Chambers USA has regularly named Mr. Davis one of the leading lawyers in tax. The Legal 500 has also recognized Mr. Davis’s tax work. He is a member of the Firm’s Tax, Real Estate Securities, and Tax Controversy Practices. He is also a member of the Firm’s Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization, and Private Equity/Investment Management Practices. He serves on the Firm's Associate Development and Evaluation Committee as well as the Opinion Letter Committee.
Mr. Davis is an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School, where he teaches in the Real Estate LLM program, and at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he teaches taxation of financial instruments. He began his professional career as a tax CPA with Price Waterhouse in New York and has practiced as a successful litigator beyond the confines of tax.
