Alexander Rozenblat focuses his practice primarily on complex patent litigation involving technologies as diverse as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical and food manufacturing, and computer hardware and software. Mr. Rozenblat is experienced in a broad spectrum of intellectual property law, including patent litigation and opinion work, patent prosecution, licensing, international trademark registration and opposition, brand development, trade secrets litigation, and copyright law. Adept at making strategic decisions and leading highly complex matters in multi-jurisdiction patent disputes. Successfully manages groups of associates, paralegals, staff and technical experts involved in patent litigation at every stage of the case. Brings a practical, results-oriented and creative approach to the practice of law. Mr. Rozenblat’s recent work includes successfully defending Johnson & Johnson, the world’s leading manufacturer of contact lenses, and Viskase, a worldwide leader in the supply of food casings, against patent infringement claims. In addition to his patent litigation practice, Mr. Rozenblat has an active trademark counseling practice.
Mr. Rozenblat is a member of the Firm's Litigation Department and the Patent Litigation and Counseling Practice. He also serves the Firm as a member of its International Committee. He is a member of the Richard Linn American Inn of Court. Outside of his work at Jenner & Block, Mr. Rozenblat has lectured on patent litigation topics at the DePaul University College of Law and judged trial advocacy classes at the John Marshall Law School.
In addition to his work with large corporate entities, Mr. Rozenblat has an active pro bono practice. He has represented clients in a variety of matters, including criminal law, recent federal litigation involving a dispute of copyright authorship, as well as an appellate argument that resulted in a disavowal of a test used in prior prisoner freedom of speech cases in the Seventh Circuit.
